JCOC
The Jewelry Consumer Opinion Council is the source for business intelligence about the gem and jewelry industry, bringing together consumer research, jewelry market information and trends that help industry professionals worldwide make critical and informed decisions.
The Problem
The JCOC has been rapidly growing over the past few years and desperately needed a complete overhaul of their systems in order to keep up. The JCOC sends out hundreds of thousands of surveys per month to panelists collecting marketing information for high-dollar jewelry companies. Their server was under constant stress, and it was becoming inefficient to put together reports and communicate with clients.
The Solution
The JCOC project in its entirety is of enormous size. It runs on multiple, dedicated servers, and is mainly comprised of two websites:
Jcoc.net - The Consumer Portal
This is the main site for people interested in the jewelry industry. The front end is rather simple. Among other features, users can see the current sweepstakes prizes, past winners, and sign up to participate in surveys. However, behind the scenes of this website is a massive database of marketing information, all collected and analyzed by custom-built survey deployment software.
Jcoc.info - The Trade Center
This is a website for businesses in the jewelry industry to learn about trends and other valuable marketing information. Users can view free reports or purchase reports (that are automatically created from the survey deployment system), purchase subscriptions, view the Weekly Jewelry Purchase Index, and more.
We spent months analyzing requirements, redesigning the technical infrastructure, and developing a new, robust system that could handle the current growing need, as well as be scalable to handle future growth. JCOC's member panel is now larger than ever and they have become an expert resource in the Jewelry industry for unparalleled marketing research.
